Triclabendazole INN and Levamisole BP
COMPOSITION
Each bolus contains Triclabendazole INN 900 mg & Levamisole BP 600 mg.
MODE OF ACTION
Triben-L® Bolus (Triclabendazole INN 900 mg & Levamisole BP 600 mg) is a broad spectrum anthelmentics. The drug levamisole is a cholinergic. It depolarizes the worm’s muscle and stimulates the ganglion. The worms get paralyzed due to the dual impact. The paralyzed worms are flushed out of the host because they are unable to continue occupying their location in the stomach. The most recent Benzimidazole derivative is called triclabendazole. From one day infant to adult liver flukes, it is quite efficient against all phases of the disease. The structural protein b-tubulin is bound by benzomidazoles, which prevent tubulin from polymerizing into microtubules. This eventually results in the parasite’s death by impairing its cell integrity and transport capabilities.
INDICATION
Triben-L® Bolus is indicated for helminths in sheep, goats, cattle, buffalo, etc. The medication is used to treat acute, subacute, and chronic fascioliasis caused by Fasciola hepatica and Fasciola gigantica in their early, immature, and adult phases. Major ruminant parasites such Ostertagia and Haemonchus of the abomasum, Cooperia, Trichostrongylus, and Bunostomum of the small intestine, Oesophagustomum, and Trichuris of the large intestine, as well as Dictyocaulus spp. of the lungs, are also treated with it. It is also effective in treating cow eye worms, or Thelazia.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
1 bolus/ 75-150 kg body weight (19.5 mg/kg body wt.)
Triben-L® Bolus can be administered orally either by dissolving in water and given as a drench or by mixing with any feed (e.g. with molasses or by wrapping in a banana leaf).
Or, as per direction of Registered Veterinarian.
CONTRAINDICATION
Triben-L® Bolus is contraindicated in animals are hypersensitive active ingredients (Triclabendazole & Levamisole).
SIDE EFFECT
Triben-L® Bolus is well tolerated by the animals. At the recommended doses, side effect is nil.
USE IN PREGNANCY AND LACTATION
Triben-L® Bolus in recommended dosage does not have effect on pregnancy. The drug has got no embryo toxic or teratogenic effect.
WITHDRAWAL PERIOD
Meat-28 days, Milk-10 days.
STORAGE
Keep away from light in a cool and dry place.
Keep all the medicines out of reach of children.
PACK SIZE
Each carton contains 5 strips of 4 boli each.
