Description:
Ciprofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic used for treatment of a variety of bacterial infections. Ciprofloxacin works by interfering with the bacterial DNA replication and repair of bacterial cell wall and cell membrane, causing bacterial cell lysis.

Efloxin® Vet Solution
Ciprofloxacin HCl USP 100 mg

COMPOSITION
Each ml contains Ciprofloxacin HCl USP 100 mg.

MODE OF ACTION
Efloxin® Vet Solution (Ciprofloxacin HCl USP 100 mg) is a 2nd generation fluoroquinolone antibiotic with broad spectrum bactericidal effects. It prevents bacterial DNA replication by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase (Topoisomerase-II) enzyme & thereby destroys bacteria.

INDICATION
Livestock:
Efloxin® Vet Solution is indicated for the treatment of diseases caused by both gram-positive & gram-negative bacteria e.g., Actinobacillus spp., Pasteurella spp., Streptococcus spp., E. coli, Bordetella spp., Salmonella spp., Mycoplasma spp. etc. in following infections:
• Respiratory tract infection
• Urinary tract infection
• Gastrointestinal tract infection
• Skin & soft tissue infection

Poultry:
Efloxin® Vet Solution is indicated for the treatment of diseases caused by both gram-positive & gram-negative bacteria e.g., Colibacillosis, Salmonellosis, Infectious coryza, CRD, Mycoplasmas, Streptococcosis, Staphylococcosis, Pasteurellosis etc. It is also indicated for the prevention of secondary bacterial infections followed by viral infections, such as- ND, IBD etc.
Fish:
Efloxin® Vet Solution is indicated for bacterial (Aeromonas spp. & Pseudomonas spp.) disease of catfish such as stinging catfish, walking catfish etc.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
Livestock: 10 ml/ 100-150 kg body weight (10-15 mg/kg body weight) twice daily for 3-5 days.

Poultry:
Treatment: 1 ml per 1-2 liter of drinking water for 3-5 days.
Prevention: 1 ml per 4-8 liter of drinking water for 3 days.

Fishes: 5 gm/kg feed or 4 gm/kg body weight fish.

Or, as per direction of Registered Veterinarian.

CONTRAINDICATION
Efloxin® Vet Solution is contraindicated in animals or birds hypersensitive to Ciprofloxacin.

SIDE EFFECT
Common : Anorexia & Vomiting.
Rare : Hypersensitivity reactions, crystalluria, dizziness & CNS stimulation.
Efloxin® Vet Solution has occasionally been reported to cause crystalluria, so animals should not be allowed to become dehydrated during Ciprofloxacin therapy. Animals or birds with severe renal or hepatic impairment may require dosage adjustment to prevent drug accumulation.

USE IN PREGNANCY AND LACTATION
Efloxin® Vet Solution should not be used in pregnant and lactating cow.

WITHDRAWAL PERIOD
Meat- Not known, Milk- Not known, Poultry meat-5 days, Eggs-Not known.

STORAGE
Store away from light in a cool and dry place.
Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
